SUNY Plattsburgh Office of Emergency Management (OEM)
The SUNY Plattsburgh Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is dedicated to the safety and well being of our students, employees and visitors, as well as protecting property. Our mission is to assist the campus in mitigating for, preparing for, responding to and recovering from the effects of all hazards (natural, technological and/or man-made). Several departments on campus and external response organizations assist with our mission by participating in trainings, exercises/drills, the planning process and support during actual events.
In addition, SUNY Plattsburgh OEM has created an Emergency Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) to provide guidance with creating policies, emergency planning and assisting during campus incidents. The EMAC is comprised of representatives in the campus community from each division, including a student representative, who will be appointed by the Student Association.

If You See Something Say Something
If you see something suspicious taking place on campus, report that behavior or activity to University Police, or in the case of emergency call 9-1-1. Factors such as race, ethnicity, national origin, or religious affiliation alone are not suspicious. You should report only suspicious behavior and situations (e.g., an unattended backpack in a public place or someone trying to break into a restricted area) rather than beliefs, thoughts, ideas, expressions, associations, or speech unrelated to terrorism or other criminal activity.
